Leak cost calculator
Is a hidden leak or a dripping tap costing you? Do the 30-minute meter test, or count the drips, and see roughly what it adds up to over a year.
- Turn off every tap, and don't flush or run appliances.
- Write down the meter reading. The last three digits (often red) are litres.
- Wait, then read it again.
Default is an approximate Sydney metro usage rate. Your bill shows your exact rate.

2am, and someone actually answered.
Pipe burst at 11pm. A plumber answered straight away, turned up in 45 minutes and had it fixed before midnight. Legends.
Told me the price before touching anything and stuck to it. New hot water system in by lunchtime.
Friendly, tidy and explained everything. They even wore covers on their boots.
Did their meter test on the website, saw the numbers and texted them. Turned out to be a leak under the slab. Found it the same afternoon.
Toilet blocked on Christmas Day with the whole family over. Dan was there in under an hour and had it cleared before lunch.
Talked me through turning the water off on the phone while he drove over. Calm, quick and honest.

FAQ
Questions people ask us at 2am.
Do you really answer at night, or is it a call centre?
It's a Flowright plumber, every time. The person who picks up is the one who'll come out, so they can tell you what to do while they're on the way.
Will I know the price before you start?
Yes. We look at the problem, explain the fix and agree the price with you before any work starts. If something changes once we open it up, we stop and talk to you first.
Where's my water meter and how do I turn it off?
In most Western Sydney homes it's near the front boundary, often in a small box or beside the path. Turn the tap on top clockwise until it stops. Units usually have a tap in the laundry, under the sink or in a meter cupboard. If you can't find it, call and we'll talk you through it.
I can smell gas. Should I call you?
If the smell is strong or anyone feels unwell, get everyone outside and call 000 first. Don't use light switches or anything that could spark. Once you're safe, you can report it to the gas network and call us to find and fix the leak.
Do you charge more on weekends and public holidays?
After-hours rates are different from weekday rates, and we'll tell you exactly what applies when you call, before we head out. No surprises.
Can you fix it on the first visit?
Most of the time, yes. Our vans carry parts for the common jobs: pipe fittings, cistern parts, tap cartridges and popular hot water units. If a part has to be ordered, we'll make it safe first.
Should I repair or replace my hot water system?
It depends on the fault and the age of the unit. Many storage systems last around 8 to 12 years. If yours is leaking from the tank itself, it usually needs replacing. Try our hot water chooser to see your options.
Can you help with an insurance claim?
We take photos of the damage and the repair and can give you a written report of what we found, which is what most insurers ask for.
